The above comments from the CFIA December 12 OIE report confirms Fujian clade 2.3.4 is in Canada as a reassortant with a Fujian H5 and North American N2. Mixing of H and N is similar to pandemic H1N1 (H1N1pdm09), which has a North American H1 and a Eurasian N1. The result confirms a wild bird source for the Fraser Valley outbreak and raises concerns for hunters and organic farms, as well as countries south of Canada, including the United States.
